Smart Grid Investment to Total $200 Billion Worldwide by 2015, According to Pike Research
A new report finds that grid automation initiatives will capture 84% of global smart grid investment through 2015, compared to just 14% for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and 2% for electric vehicle management systems.

NV Energy Selects Sensus for Advanced Smart Grid Solution
The utility is expected to deploy as many as 1.3 million electric and
155,000 gas meters throughout the utility's 54,500 square mile service territory beginning in 2010. The deployment is conditional on negotiation of a definitive agreement with NV Energy as well as
receipt of all requisite contract and regulatory approvals.

Venture Capital Investment in Green Technologies Approaches $5 Billion in 2009
Consistent with the last four years, solar power was once again the leading investment segment at more than $1.4 billion in 84 deals followed by biofuels at $976 million in 44 rounds. As forecast by GTM Research, investment in smart grid, energy storage and automotive is gaining momentum along with overlooked sectors such as wind, water and lighting.

Report Outlines Top Ten Global Energy Trends in 2010
According to the report from Global Markets Direct, global electricity generation is expected to continue to increase in the years to come. In 2008, 19.53 Trillion KWh of electricity was generated. Worldwide electricity generation is expected to increase to 20.26 Trillion KWh in 2009 and further to 21.0 Trillion KWh in 2010. The growth in the electricity generation can be attributed to increase in the population and economic growth in the emerging economies and a corresponding increase in the usage of electricity for residential, commercial as well as industrial purposes.

The DHS' Multi-Vendor Assessment (MVA) project project includes operating a simulated pipeline to accurately model and explore numerous real-world processes that occur within critical infrastructure.
