Session Abstract

2:30 - 3:30 pm EDT

Is Current Legacy IPS And IDS Security Enough For The Smart Grid And Critical Infrastructure?

This session, a continuation of the previous session discussion, examines whether current legacy IPS and IDS security is adequate for smart grid and critical infrastructure. Panelists will examine the state of intrusion detection systems and whether they are providing true end-to-end security for the grid. A key question to be addressed is whether current IDS security detection is "too late" for real time smart grid data. Panelists will discuss strategy options, best practices, and lessons learned to date in addressing this key area of grid security.
