Putting Data To Work - Case Studies On Operational Efficiency From Meter-Level Data

The mantra that, "you can't manage what you don't measure" certainly resonates when discussing energy management. Increased access to meter-level interval data is opening up a whole new realm of possibilities for operational efficiency by providing a means for measurement and benchmarking. In addition to helping identify inefficiencies, meter-level data offers a platform to monitor building behavior and make sure that operations stay on track over time. Just like eating healthy is better than going on a crash-diet, a one-time equipment upgrade can only get you so far -- energy efficiency must be an ongoing process within an organization. And so much can be accomplished with meter-level electricity usage and demand data!

This presentation will highlight case studies of companies who are putting meter-level data to work for them and uncovering significant savings potential. Cases studies will include:
  • A 650+ store supermarket chain where energy monitoring and analytics have surfaced hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual energy savings

  • A public school district where meter-data was used to identify night shut-down issues at 15 schools.

  • A state that is leading by example with a multi-commodity metering and monitoring of over 400 state-owned facilities
Note: For quality purposes, this presentation will be pre-recorded for initial broadcast during the V-Summit. The live Q&A discussion on April 26 will be held during the final 10-15 minutes of the scheduled session timeslot.
