Session Abstract
11:00 am - 12:30 pm EDT
Future Energy Crisis: Virtual Power Plants and Our Future
This session examines virtual power plants from a variety of industry perspectives. First, from an ISO perspective, the discussion will look at the ERCOT market and why ALRs are an attractive opportunity for ERCOT - including general benefits expected, risks, needs met, etc. Next, the panel will examine at a case study from CPS Energy, the largest municipally owned utility in the United States, including why the company is looking into ALR/VPPs, planned benefits, issues/risks to date, and lessons learned. Finally, we'll take a look at how energy management service providers such as Consert can provide VPP/ALR solutions for customers, ranging from residential to C&I.
Note: For quality purposes, the presentations in this session were pre-recorded on July 23 for initial broadcast during
this V-Summit. The live Q&A discussion on July 26 will begin at approximately 12:15 pm EDT and go for 15 minutes.
